Culture Center in Kozlow
The slideshow entitled "The Kenai Peninsula – Alaska in miniature" was held on October 8th, 2013 in abode of the Local Culture Center in Kozlow. In a spacious spectacle hall there gathered almost 100 pupils and teachers from the nearby junior high school, who had been invited by the Center’s director Mrs. Elisabeth Kopec to untypical live lesson of geography and nature. Young people broke stereotypes and to my great surprise they were watching the slides and were listening to the stories about Alaska with caution during almost three lessons. Moreover they asked a lot of questions. This shows that young people want to get knowledge also outside the school, as long as it is delivered in interesting way. Ringing applause, which I was given at the end of the slideshow, prove that even during the age of Internet, iPhones and computer games young people appreciate personal contact with a traveler.
