Culture Club ''Przewoz'' in Krakow
The slideshow entitled "Kenai National Wildlife Refuge – Alaska in miniature" was held on November 16th, 2012 in abode of the "Przewoz" Culture Club in Krakow. In small building, where cultural life of the settlement "Przewoz" prospers every day, this time gathered about 40 pupils and teachers from the nearby primary school, who had been invited by the Club’s director Mrs. Magdalena Augustyn to aninteractive lesson of geography and nature study. To my great surprise children were listening to the stories with caution for over 90 minutes and currently commentating presented slides from Alaska. At the end of the slideshow they heaped dozens of questions on me. These numerous and sometimes very inquiring questions testified not only to children’s engagement to the meeting. First of all they proved that such interactive lessons of geography and nature study have great significance because during them pupils collect much more knowledge and positive emotions than during handbook lessons at school (photo 1-6). On May 8th, 2014 in the Club took place another slideshow about my expedition to Alaska, this time entitled "Valley of the Yukon River – In the Interior of Alaska". Like previously the atmosphere of meeting was very pleasant and children were listening to my stories with great interest (photo 7-11).
