Association ''Friends of Nowa Huta'' in Krakow
The slideshow entitled "The Kenai Peninsula – Alaska in miniature" was held on December 9th, 2013 in abode of the Association "Friends of Nowa Huta" in Krakow, within project "Seniors without borders", which aim is to promote an active lifestyle among people after sixty years of age. About 50-60 persons came to the lecture, who systematically attend courses organized under the banner of the Nowohucka Senior Academy. After the slideshow there was a quiz of knowledge about Alaska, there were prizes and congratulations for winners, ringing applause for the lecturer and traditional registrations in student’s books, crediting students with the lecture. In spite of nasty and rainy weather everybody was in good humor and the slideshow shattered several stereotypes about Alaska (photo 1-6). My another lecture for the Nowohucka Senior Academy, entitled "The Biebrza River Valley. The last wild wetlands of Europe", took place on May 11th, 2015. This time I had a pleasure to present photographs and a movie about the valley of the Biebrza River, which is considered to be one of the most valuable natural sites of Poland (photo 7-12).
