University of the Third Age in Gdow
The slideshow entitled "The Kenai Peninsula – Alaska in miniature" was held on November 21st, 2013 in the building of Culture Center in Gdow, within project "Academy of Social Activity", accomplished by local University of the Third Age. About 40-50 persons came to the meeting, mostly seniors being regular members of the UTA, interested in a lecture about Alaska, its inhabitants and wildlife. Guests have been welcomed with warm words and a smile by Mrs. Edyta Trojanska-Urbanik – manager of the Center. After the lecture there came time for formalities i.e. registrations in student’s books. The only difference between traditional student’s books and those kept by the seniors from UTA was yellow color of covers. In pleasant atmosphere of traveling all participants received credit and in the same time they gathered quite a lot of practical knowledge about Alaska (photo 1-6). On March 13th, 2014 in Gdow took place another slideshow about my expedition to Alaska, this time entitled "Valley of the Yukon River – In the Interior of Alaska". The attendance was good, likewise weather and because all of the UTA members enjoyed photographs and stories from the Far North, succeeding evening with Alaska should be recognized as very successful (photo 7-10). On October 9th, 2014 in Gdow took place another slideshow, this time about one of my nature travels around Poland, entitled "The Biebrza River Valley. The last wild wetlands of Europe" (photo 11-16). On October 23rd, 2014 in Gdow took place slideshow entitled "The Pieniny Mountains with the Dunajec River Gap. Mountains carved with wind and water" (photo 17-22). On March 12th, 2015 took place slideshow entitled "Thassos. Emerald island of sunny Greece" (photo 23-28). On January 28th, 2016 took place slideshow entitled "The Bialowieza Primeval Forest. A kingdom of wood bison" (photo 29-34). On April 21st, 2016 took place slideshow entitled "The Bieszczady Mountains. A land of mountain meadows and the Carpathian beech forest" (photo 35-39). On January 18th, 2017 took place the slideshow entitled "The Table Mountains. The mysterious world of Rock Towns" (photo 41-46).
